How can we support employment in the tourist industry? How can we create more hospitality and service-related jobs? How can we match profiles with the many jobs involved in the tourist industry? Bouches-du-Rhône Tourisme, in conjunction with the Area Council, plays an active role in uniting, innovating and promoting exchanges. Several major projects are currently ongoing to tackle current employment issues in the tourist industry.
"My Job in Provence"
In partnership with the area's Department of Education, Bouches-du-Rhône Tourisme is leading a programme designed to provide high school children with better knowledge of tourism-related jobs by organizing, among others, encounters with travel professionals, business directors and hoteliers, in the aim of encouraging future vocations.
Bouches-du-Rhône Tourisme also leads a think-tank aimed at professionals entitled "My Job in Provence", comprising businesses from the tourism sector such as the Accor Group, Caumont Arts Centre and Eureka. On the programme: innovation, sustainable seasonal jobs, staff loyalty and new services to business, as well as very concrete subjects such as subsidized employment contracts.
Major job fairs
In parallel, Bouches-du-Rhône Tourisme also attends major job fairs hosted by the Area Council to promote careers in hospitality and service-related jobs – the cornerstone of the area's tourist industry.
